A few weeks ago we went to Nacogdoches, TX. My husband and I graduated from college there and loved the 3 years we spent there together! We've only been back a handful of times....but love visiting periodically to reminisce! The last time we were there we stayed in a historical cabin called the Tol Barret House.
L.T Barret was the first man to drill oil in Texas. The cabin we stayed in was his home. The owners of the cabin moved it to their property in the late 70's. They also have another historical home on their property. We enjoyed staying there....and the owner, Ms. Phillips, was so sweet to make homemade bread and jam.
This is the steep stairs heading up to the beds...
My older daughter felt like it was a "Little House on The Prairie" cabin...
(and YES, those are really uncomfortable feather beds on rope slats).
It does look rustic, but so lovely!!!
