East Texas is known for it's beautiful azalea blooms every spring!
The Mercantile Building is almost a 100 year old building. It is still used as a "general store" with odds and ends that you can purchase. The owner, at one time, had a string shop in there as well. On Friday nights you can find fiddle and string players joining up to "play a tune". Believe it or not....this was one of my husbands favorite things to do when we went to college there. (Yes-he is an ol' soul'......which is why I love him so much!)
I guess at one point this mercantile building was a cafe. One of the waitresses was "Bonnie" of "Bonnie and Clyde" before the two became a duo.
Just an old house...
One of our favorite places to eat when we were in college...
Pretty house...
Little ol' man selling his "hard work" at Farmers Market...
Another pretty house...
We took the girls bikes so they could ride up and down one of our favorite streets. We use to walk this neighborhood street. It is full of pretty homes and those tall East Texas pines!
Lots of pictures...I know! I couldn't decipher...and I have a ton more!

Ohhh...Addie is right, it's just like little house on the prairie! Let's go there this fall and stitch our alphabet samplers!

Hey Sarah,
I have this blog saved to my favorites on my computer and sometimes when I'm done with school I like to relax and look at your pictures before I start up again with teacher stuff. The pictures of Nacogdoches are wonderful! Takes me back to that lovely place. We all want to take Aubrey to a football game when she gets older. The cabin looks really neat and I would have had the same thought about Little House. I can't believe how much Addie and Lily are growing. Addie's birthday party looks like it was a great time!
