These were my daughters FAVORITE shoes when she was around 3. She would have worn them day and night if I'd had let her. I thought about passing them on to my other daughter but then had the thought to shadow box them. I think I'll get my other little girl her own pair and then shadow box them too.
See my new horse ribbons!!! When I got an email from Bristol at Cottage By The River telling me she was updating her store with them I couldn't get over there fast enough! Can you believe when I FINALLY made it to her store 2 hours later...they were all sold out. Uhghghg!!! I have been looking for vintage horse and horticulture prize ribbons for sometime now. Now....really...who else needed them that badly? I emailed her back and told her I was too late and someone else had purchased them...which she told me was this person.
Well...a few days later Bristol emailed me again and let me know she was updating her shop again with more ribbons. This time I happen to check emails at the right time and swooped in to get me some ribbons!!
Bristol was so sweet and sent me a few extra goodies! Thanks Bristol. Check out her shop. Full of goodies. I'm LOVIN' the vintage First Prize ribbon!
Well, things are still moving along at my new house. Believe it or not I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. We are updating part of our new house. The other half will come later...you have to be able to sleep in a somewhat-dust-free area. The painters are to be finished this week and then the floors go in.
Hope you had a good 4th! We did! We started out the morning with a parade. The community we moved to has a local parade that you can participate in. So....we got out the old 75' Buick Convertible and took her for a spin. This is my great uncles car. He bought it in 1975 and still maintains it to this day. As soon as we get settled in our house and clear out the sea of boxes in the garage "she" is coming to live with us. This car has a lot of great memories attached to it but mostly as our "get away" car at our wedding reception. We left the reception in this car with a big pink bow on the back of the trunk...the top down...with my veil waving in the wind down the highway!
Here we are lined up waiting for the parade to start. There were several old cars, lots of floats from local businesses and neighborhoods, and kids on bicycles/ATV's.
After the parade it was off to eat breakfast and more joy riding!
