I decided to make these yesterday. So easy! I actually bought the candles a couple of months at the grocery store. My intentions, as always, were to make them that afternoon but got distracted. So yesterday, on a whim, I made them. I was cleaning house and saw them just sitting on top of the refrigerator....looking at me in desperation..."when will you dress us with pretty papers and ribbon," they asked. So in between laundry and dusting I made them....and the best part is it took me a whole 15 minutes!!!
You might be asking, "Where do you get those candles?" Well, let me tell you.....the grocery store. Really! They are white waxed candles in glass jars. Then I wrapped one of my favorite papers around them (Martha Stewart wrapping paper). I then used some vintage brooches and forget-me-nots. With a little hot glue and tape it all holds together nicely.
I actually bought these a couple of years ago. That was before I new anything about vintage sheet music and seam binding ribbon. If only I had known then what I know now! HA!!!
So go get yourselves some candles this weekend and ON A WHIM create yourself something DELIGHTFUL! It really is a very simple and fast project. If you make them post them on your blog and let me know! I would love to come over see what you created!

I have a short, fat candle that has been sitting for months now waiting to be beautified. Wonder when my whim will hit! Your's turned out beautiful.

Gorgeous candle decorating! I love it!!! I decorated a candle a couple of nights ago for my God-Daughter to be (tomorrow morning) to use at her Baptism, but I wish I had a glass jar around it, looks so much classier!!!

love the candle idea! Do you lite your candles? have you had any issue with the glue once the candles warm up? ...or is this just for decorating purposes? either way, they are lovely & I think I need to make some. :) xoxo, Joanna
